  • This depends on the trip type. We’ll be in San Diego Bay for a bay trip, and anywhere from around 1 to 12 miles out for a local or Coronado Islands trip. Offshore trips generally take us 30 to 60 miles offshore, while bluefin trips may extend up to 100 miles offshore.

Absolutely! Our team will guide you through the process and ensure that you have a fun and safe experience, regardless of your skill level. Just let us know you’re new to fishing, and we’ll take care of the rest.

We recommend a local half day trip if you’re new to fishing.

Offshore, Bluefin, and Coronado Islands trips tend to offer the best opportunity for larger species. However, big catches are a possibility on local coastal trips as well.

Yes, we have a fully functional marine head (restroom).

You’ll bring your own food and beverages. We have two 65 quart yeti coolers with ice to store your food and drinks for the day. We only ask that you don’t bring glass bottles. We provide extra water bottles, but encourage you to bring your own to keep hydrated

Yes. Please enjoy safely and responsibly. DO NOT bring glass onboard

Absolutely, the fish we target are excellent table fare. We will plan to keep fish per current regulations, or we may practice catch and release fishing if that is your preference.

  • Filleting of coastal species (bass, rockfish, etc.), Yellowtail, Dorado, and Bonito, is included. We place fillets in Ziplock bags or will gut your fish if you prefer to keep them whole. Fillet services for other large pelagic species such as Tuna, sharks, etc. are not guaranteed, and we’d ask that you contact a local fish processing company if we are targeting those species. Further clarification below.
  • We recommend inquiring with a local fish processing company prior to Coronado Islands, offshore, and Bluefin Tuna trips. However, you may use a fish processor for any trip type. The quality and longevity of your catch will be enhanced when the fish is professionally processed and immediately vacuum sealed. Reservations for these services are generally required. Some options with convenient dockside pick-up/ mobile options include San Diego Fish Processing and Coast to Coast fish processing. San Diego Fish Processing specializes in assisting private charter guests and is a good option to check out first. They have pick-up and shipping options to help make your experience easy. Check out their website here: http://www.sdfishprocessing.com. Other options include Five Star Fish Processing, Sportsman’s Seafood, and Fisherman’s Processing

We may encounter a variety of marine life, including whales. We also offer whale watching specific trips as our boat is an excellent vessel for whale watching and fishing alike.

We will be in touch leading up to your trip and discuss our options (changing trip type, changing date, etc.). If the weather is unsafe we offer full refunds, or you may retain trip credit for a future trip.

If necessary, we will head back to shore; either finishing the trip early or fishing in the bay if the symptoms dissipate. For optimal comfort during your trip, we highly recommend taking motion sickness medicine beforehand to help alleviate any potential discomfort.
